Robert “West” Beaumont has just become the Marquess of Hampton and is embracing freedom from his father’s iron grip on the family. Seeking to restore the family finances while simultaneously divesting from businesses that leave a moral stain on the Beaumont family, the last thing he wants to deal with is looking for a wife.

Lady Priscilla, Dowager Duchess of Stern, is looking to stretch her wings and explore the new mobility in society now available to her as a widow. While her mother wishes to re-match her right away while still young enough to provide children, Priscilla is reluctant to tie herself down again so quickly.

Both are determined not to make matches based on the expectations of their family, but when West assists Priscilla in avoiding fortune hunting men after being introduced by friends at a ball, the ton mistakes them for a couple. Though neither wants to consider the other as a possible partner (they are exactly whom would please their families), the misconception continuing allows them to satisfy everyone and provides the space needed to meet their goals. But what happens when a fake relationship begins to feel all too real, and they may be the answer to what each was searching for all along?

About The Author

Andie has been a voracious reader her entire life. While she had read romance from time to time previously, it wasn’t until more recently that she truly fell in love with the genre. During the COVID pandemic, like many of us, she couldn’t bring herself to read anything heavy. Needing something lighter and joyful, she turned to romance—and the HEA (Happily Ever After) in romance fit the bill. 

After a 15 year career in student and academic development in higher education, she took a leap of faith and decided to try her hand at writing. Andie decided to start with a focus on historical romance as she loves the fantasy inherent to the genre, and the way a historical lens can provide a different perspective to understand contemporary issues. Andie happily lives in Fairview, OR. 

She loves living in the Pacific Northwest and feels invigorated by the beauty of Puget Sound. There is nothing she enjoys more than curling up with a good book and some great coffee on a rainy day. 

Good food and time with family and friends fulfills her, she is fiercely political, and she appreciates a good story in any form (book, TV, movie, theatre, NPR reporting). 

When not reading or writing she enjoys attending musical theater performances and playing board games. Andie tries to live by the philosophy of Ted Lasso (and yes, Fated Mates, Roy Kent is a romance hero) and looks at life with a realistic optimism. 

Andie is also the host of First Encounter—a podcast exploring both the foundations, and the future, of historical romance. She is also trying to start Besotted Books, a publishing company for historical romance.
