Catch the video replay of my chat with NYT bestselling author Amy Ewing! We discuss The Irish Goodbye, her writing journey, and fun facts.
I am so excited to share the highlights of my fabulous chat with New York Times bestselling author, Amy Ewing!
Amy was so bubbly and happy! I loved the book and loved our conversation!
I have been eagerly anticipating this visit since March, and Amy did not disappoint. I hope she will come back in the future.
Amy was wonderful to meet!! I loved hearing more about her writing process and about her. Thank you so much!
She is so sweet and enthusiastic, and a good storyteller
Amy Ewing's enthusiasm and energy is so infectious... enjoyed meeting her and reading her book The Irish Goodbye.
Amy Ewing is as delightful as her characters. I loved hearing from her about her process for writing and to hear how passionate she is about her stories.

I love asking our authors unique questions, and Amy shared some amazing stories with us!
Did you know Amy actually moved to New York City to become an actor? She went to NYU for theater but realized she hated auditioning and the constant rejection.
She ultimately found her path in writing, first becoming a bestselling YA fantasy author. However, during the pandemic, she hit a deep burnout and depression.
Writing complex, dark fantasy worlds became exhausting, and she just wanted to escape to a cozy place where people fell in love and got a happy ending. This led her to write her first romance, which completely changed her life and helped her separate her self-worth from her book sales.
The result of that shift was The Irish Goodbye, set on the magical island of Inishmore in Ireland! It follows Cordelia, a street photographer grieving the sudden loss of her father and struggling to find her footing in her career.
She bumps heads—literally—with Niall, an aspiring chef who is forced to return home to work at his dad's pub after finding his fiancée cheating on him with their business partner. It's a gorgeous forced-proximity, fish-out-of-water, enemies-to-lovers story!
She also gave us a sneak peek of her upcoming book, The Plus One List, which features a heroine with anxiety, an exclusive list of eligible bachelors, and a lavish destination wedding in Mexico City!
If you pick up an Amy Ewing romance, she promises her readers these staples:
Her furry assistants:
She has two rescue dogs! Sam is a 14-year-old toothless Chihuahua named after Samwise Gamgee, and Matilda is a 4-year-old black pug named after the Roald Dahl book.

Her morning routine:
Before she starts writing at 8:00 AM, she makes a cup of coffee, greets her dogs, and catches up on the news.
Weirdest/Unique thing she owns:
This is the most romantic story! She accidentally proposed to her fiancé first on a beach in Long Island. He immediately said yes, then picked up a smooth stone from the beach and proposed right back (he actually had the real ring back at their Airbnb!). She had that exact stone set into a beautiful bracelet that she will wear at their wedding!

Hidden Talents & Hobbies:
She loves to cook, plays the guitar, writes songs, and recently took up running in her 40s to help with her mental health and anxiety.
Bucket List:
She is a huge foodie and dreams of traveling to Tokyo to eat all the ramen, sushi, and local dishes just like a local!

This steamy romance novel from the author of the New York Times bestselling Jewel series “checks all the boxes for a steamy Irish summer holiday escape." —Abby Jimenez, author of Just for the Summer
Cordelia James was once at the top of her game—a renowned street photographer with a massive social media following, gallery showings in Chelsea, and a lucrative book deal. But after the sudden death of her father, Cordelia can barely force herself to leave her apartment. That is, until she sees an ad for a summer gig at a cozy cottage on Ireland’s picturesque Inishmore island. Cordelia is on a plane before she can talk herself out of it.
The moment she steps off the boat, she crashes—literally—into Niall O’Connor, a grumpy local who’s just returned home to Inishmore from Dublin. Niall is nursing a broken heart and trying to patch up a broken life, and he has no time for posh American tourists. The more Cordelia’s and Niall’s paths cross, the more they make each other’s lives hell. But as with all rivalries, their hatred is about to reach a tipping point—and it’s going to heat up their cool coastal nights.
Featuring a lovable band of quirky supporting characters, The Irish Goodbye is a steamy, emotionally gripping tale of love, passion, art, food, and finding where you belong.

As the daughter of a librarian, books were a crucial part of Amy Ewing's childhood.
She holds an MFA in Creative Writing from The New School, and her young adult fantasy novel The Jewel became a New York Times and international bestseller.
She also publishes adult contemporary romance, including The Irish Goodbye and her forthcoming title,The Plus One List.
Amy lives in New York City with her fiancé, two rescue dogs, and more books than she has shelf space for.
